A well-established Arabic family in Al Barsha South, Dubai, are seeking an experienced British governess for their three daughters, aged 10, 7 and 5. The mother grew up in the United Kingdom and places great value on a British approach to her children's upbringing and education. The family have employed a governess in this capacity for a number of years, and the successful candidate will step into an established role with routines already in place. The family also have a son aged two who is cared for by his own nanny.
The Role
The governess will take sole charge of the three girls during working hours, providing structure, educational enrichment and consistent, respectful guidance. This is a hands-on position for a governess who is confident planning independently and managing the differing needs of three children at once.
Duties include:
- Planning and delivering educational and recreational activities, both at home and out - Organising regular outings and excursions for the girls - Managing the weekly schedule and maintaining consistent daily routines - Instilling manners, respect and good conduct, which are central to the family's values - Working alongside the family's existing nanny to ensure the household runs smoothly - Communicating clearly and regularly with the parents
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a governess or nanny within a private household - Experience with children of a similar age range - British-educated, with a strong understanding of British childcare and educational standards - Norland training highly desirable - Comfortable working within an Arabic household while maintaining a British-style routine - Calm, organised and able to work independently - Driving licence an advantage, not essential
Package
Salary: £65,000 to £90,000 gross per annum, depending on experience (approx. AED 26,500 to 36,750 per month) Hours: Monday to Friday, approximately 10 hours per day Accommodation: Live-out.
